RULES

4^th of July Apple Pie Contest

Process

●       Pies will be dropped off at the city pier bandstand at 11:00 am

●       Judging will begin shortly after 11:00 am

●       Winner announced between 1-1:30 pm (need not be present to win)

Judging

●       Pies will be judged on appearance, taste, texture, and flavor of crust and filling, and overall impression

●       Pies with the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd highest scores will win that place (in the event of a tie the judges will choose a winner)

Pie Criteria

●       Pies must have a bottom and top crust of some kind, and the majority of the filling must be apples (other fruits, nuts, etc. are allowed)

●       Pies must be made from scratch with no store-bought crust or filling

●       Amateurs only, please do not enter if your job involves making or selling pie

●       Pies MUST be in a disposable pie tin, which need not be returned

Prizes

●       1^st place $250

●       2^nd place $150

●       3^rd place $100

Note: Pies that are not picked up at the end of the contest will be given to volunteers
