Sequim Ecstatic Dance
Join us for Sequim Ecstatic Dance on July 18th with DJ Zeebrio (Shelly Z) at Tall Tree Sanctuary.
DJ Zeebrio – Healing Ecstatic Dance Set (7.18.26)
Over the past few years, DJ ZeeBrio (Shelly Z) has immersed herself in the world of Ecstatic Dance. A lifelong music enthusiast and aspiring DJ, Shelly has found the perfect harmony in blending movement and sound through this passion. Health issues have slowed her involvement over the past several months, but the music has kept her going — and sane — making this set a deeply personal healing journey.
This set flows through organic house, downtempo, melodic techno, afro house, and world fusion grooves. It begins with soft, atmospheric rhythms and gentle percussive textures that invite deep presence and grounding. The energy gradually builds with hypnotic bass lines, tribal-infused beats, and uplifting melodies that encourage freer movement and emotional release. It peaks with driving, ecstatic grooves before settling back into flowing, soul-nourishing sounds for integration and renewal.

Because this is a safe space for movement and expression, we do request that you follow these guidelines:
1. Dance Barefoot or with shoes since we are outdoors
2. Wear comfortable clothes and layers – all must wear a top for gender equity; wear layers especially in winter if the windows need to be open.
3. Be clear-minded – no alcohol or drugs.
4. Refrain from talking in the dance area – to allow for a movement meditation experience; may talk quietly to obtain consent.
5. Be SCENT-FREE – No fragrances, essential oils or other scented products as these can bother some people. Check ingredients in your sunscreen.
6. Turn off your cell phone – no camera or videos allowed.
7. Be mindful of your surroundings when dancing.
CONSENT
Many Dancers come to dance by themselves in a group setting. Some Dancers also enjoy dancing with others, with or without physical contact. We are a consent-based community. Please use the following guidelines to help create a consent-based culture:
1. Respect the Solo Dancers’ Right to their own Space
2. Continuously Listen for the “Yes” (they turn toward, are coming closer, extend an open palm).
3. Respect any “No” (ignoring you, turning away)
4. When uncertain, quietly ask a person for consent.
5. Hands in prayer at heart means: “I see you and thank you” (for the dance that just ended or doesn’t want to begin)
